homemade mango chutney
Yay! So glad it didn't break in transit. I like it on top of fish or hot veggies or rice. DH scarfs it down in scoops or on tortilla chips. The mangoes were from my tree so no nasty chemicals.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering.
Buh bye, 2014.

Finally got my package in the mail...but no idea how quickly it will get there. Still whee!
My gifteez gifts are purchased! Plan to get in mail Monday!
I don't know if this is the place to mention this, but my siblings had our annual get together at my brother's houss. We do a random gift exchange where we can steal someone else's gift. There is always one present that changes hand the most. This year it was a 12th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver, provided by me, and a Tardis nighlight that I ended up with. A lot of Whovians in the family! and at least one great-nephew who really did not get the concept had a meltdown after his mom had the Screwdriver stolen.
So 2014 hadn't done anything in particular to tick me off, then yesterday...EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD in one day! Because of poor planning on the part of someone not me, I get stuck on a massive project that HAD to be finished yesterday. 3 hours of overtime is nice on a paycheck - not on a Friday night. I get home a little after 8, so I can get ready for a party that had started at 7. Driving down to the party, I can't get my windows to unfog - apparently my defroster's not working. I finally get to the party & find parking but have to circle the building to find an actual entrance. I get in there, hoping to unwind from my crap day, instead it's like a Jr High party and my friend and I are the uncool kids getting ignored. The two of us chatted and when we decided to leave, a couple of them finally talked to us. We walk out to my truck and...it's not there. We hunt around because my friend is sure it's just because I'm not familiar with the complex and I must have parked somewhere else. We get in her car and circle around until we accept it's not there. I call the number on the sign in the parking area, and my truck's been towed. I parked in a space marked "Guest", but it turns out you have to have a PERMIT TO PARK IN A GUEST SPACE. Thankfully my (very good) friend was willing to drive me another half hour further from home so I could pay $352 (JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS) to get my baby back from the towyard. AND I lost an earring somewhere while we were hunting for my truck.
So, 2014 got in it's last-minute shots at me. Please, 2015, don't suck.
eta: And upon an hour's reflection, I feel bad for being so dramatic when other people have had real bad things of badness happen this year, and I just had a supremely shitty day. So, let this just be as bad as it gets, and I'll be not that bad off.
That is a whole lot of suckage for one day! Wow, $352!!! It might have been easier to take if you had a fabulous time. May the rest of the year balance things out for you.
I am having a lovely sixth night of Hanukkah with smonster, Tom, and our friend RI. Smonster lit the candles and I opened a box from Liddabit Sweets in Brooklyn which contained Stout Gingerbread caramels and Beer & Pretzel caramels!
I am assuming it's from my Secret Santa - thank you! Delicious.
We also watched "Amends," (Buffy) "The Ho Ho Ho Job," (Leverage) and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins" (Bob's Burgers). Sarah and R had to leave, but Tom and I are now watching Community Christmas eps.
Sounds like a perfectly awesome evening. Nice!
Man, the caramels are delicious, especially the pretzel one.
