Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

Aw, that's so neat that you like your daughter's poem, Burrell!

Tom, better the stripe than that it got hacked and someone already spent all your money?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I woke up unnecessarily early, and came to work ditto, but I actually think that means I'm going to be able to get my shit done in a timely manner! I have multiple things that HAVE to get done today, so that's good.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I still want to curl up in a ball and cry, frankly.

hwæt

So, apparently, buying something at the Apple store — which I do several times a year — in the city I live in — gets flagged as suspicious activity. Also, attempting to withdraw cash to make a purchase after said debit card purchase gets rejected will get flagged as suspicious activity too. Wankers.

Unrelated typography question — spaces before and after an em-dash: yes or no?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

No spaces.

I prefer spaces, but my work's style guide says no. It still irks me.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So far at work today I have accomplished:

  • Drinking almost all of my first cup of coffee.
  • Rearranging all the computers on my desk so that I can see (and watch) the TV.

Can I take a nap now?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The algorithms used to detect credit and debit card fraud are quite complex and constantly changing. I think computers come up with them now instead of humans. Perhaps using stolen cards to purchase Apple products and then reselling them for cash is common these days?

Anyway, detecting credit and debit card fraud will soon be done by Skynet.

Another vote for no spaces.
