I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I voted by absentee ballot a couple of weeks ago. With the wide-ranging interviews and whatnot, I wasn't sure I'd be in town on voting day. And I didn't want to miss my chance to vote against Tom Tillis.

Sara, we are going to Legoland next weekend instead (did K mention the date change?) because hotel rooms are significantly cheaper.

Oh man, my brain is not willing to sleep.

Ginger, thank you for the info! The endo who gave me the info about Grace's genetic stuff didn't have enough background to really help. I figured that I'd need more info on which chromosomes (but I did notice many of the more well documented translocations are fertility busters).

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Got up for a 6:30 phone call, and of course they're having connection problems.

Kat, hopefully they have already referred you to a Genetic Counselor, who will prove to be much more helpful than the physicians on something like this.

In and out of the polling place by 8 am. Ran into my favorite state delegate, Mary Washington, as I was leaving (she was there to vote. For herself, I assume!)

hwæt

I just voted, too. Although I should have waited until I had my caffeine first, because I spoiled my first ballot and had to do it over. The clickety-clack machines wouldn't let you vote for two candidates for the same office!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Back from the voting. Definitely more turnout than usual at my precinct -- Durham is pissed at all these shenanigans, yo.

I believe I will not vote for Thom Tillis again tomorrow, in fact.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Thanks, Kat, that is exactly the sort of insight I can use. References to charter schools always set of alarm bells in my head, although that is not always justified.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I voted early, because VA allows you to do that if you work outside your county of residence. It's been a quiet election cycle in my area -- even the campaigning at the Metro station has been minimal.
