Until this morning, my house never got below 63 and that was doable. I could probably have dealt with the 60, but for the wind gusts sneaking little cold fingers in. I think it is 50% mind game. And my sinuses hurt and I have to do work outside.

That was the other thing: toilet seat was a little bit of a shock. (Bathroom is one of the draftier rooms due to skylight & vent.)

It was 30 this morning when I went out for breakfast. All the cars had frost on them, and one car also had shit smeared on the driver's side window and mirror. Wtf?
The car was illegally parked but that seems excessive. Plus a lot of trouble to go through.

Right now I'm getting black beans soaked for black bean and sweet potato soup later and cooking bulgur so I have bulgur. Last night I made butter bean soup and made chicken stock from a roasted chicken (I bought it roasted) carcass. I feel very domestic and glad I finally tackled my kitchen nightmare last weekend. Much more to tackle overall, but at least now I'll be healthily fed.

Try splitting leftover biscuits, spread each half with a little butter, add a biscuit-sized slab of very extra sharp cheddar and run them under the broiler for a few minutes
Yum! When I have leftover biscuits I like to do that with just butter, but adding cheese sounds amazing.
So I woke up at 6 am feeling rested and refreshed and it was already getting light. I know I'll be less happy with the time change at 5 o'clock tonight when it's already dark.
