David, what age was Emmett when he got the HPV vac?

Our wings are not tired.

When the boys were getting vaccinations is wasn't suggested for them so it may have been before that time. If it was suggested I would have done it! They are just a bit older than Emmett.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but I'd be more ready to move to San Francisco if the average rent on a 1BR was not super ridiculous. I know I'm basing this on my current income and not what my income (hopefully) would be if I transferred, but good god.

Rents are crazy here, but cost of living is pretty doable, especially after you factor in your bump in salary. You should compare notes with P-Cow and Java and megan walker and others who commute down to the South Bay. It might be easier to get an East Bay Place and take the BART down to Fremont, or do CalTrain from South of Market. There are some ways to finesse it. I've found NorCal winds up compensating for the rent in a variety of ways (cheaper produce, public transit, lots of free entertainment etc.) People want to move here because it's so much easier to just live here. No brutal winters, easy access for travel and all that biz.

He got the first shot last year. He needs two more.

Ha ha, uh, I won't need to worry about commuting as long as I'm somewhat nearby a stop where my company provides transportation to the South Bay, because I'll be one of those Silicon Valley assholes.

True. I'm looking at SF because I prefer the benefits of a city over living in the suburbs.

brillig

I invested in some bags of candy corn before the Halloween display is swapped out for Christmas. The boxes of Christmas stuff were already stacked up in the aisle, and the candy was being consolidated.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

when I edit articles that show hard data on how sugar is the devil and how whole grains do actually lower mortality risk.

Define "whole grains". Will grocery-store bread do it, or do I have to go full artisan?

"Replacing a serving of potato with a serving of whole grains was NOT associated with reduced mortality."

Ain't giving up my taters, nohow. So we just add whole grains on top? But isn't that essentially more sugar? I wanna read that article. Where might I find it when it's published? That must have been a very long study.

I'm not doing Halloween. I'll either go to the movies or pretend to not be home. We haven't had any little kids come around for the last two years anyway. So I'm not even buying candy. No sugar in the house! Except for ice cream.
