So I've been following the whole #gamergate fiasco, because I know Anita Sarkeesian socially, and I know a ton of people who game.
And the fuckers just doxxed Felicia Day. Because she posted about how the whole thing makes her nervous about dealing with gamers, even though she's a gamer and built a lot of her career on the fact that she's a gamer. Fuckheads.
It's not about punishing women, nooooo.
Jesus, I'd just read her piece. I hope her agents and lawyers and fans come down like fire.
I'm not a gamer, have just the edge of understanding of gamer gates origins and... Fire.
What does "doxxed" mean?
Publishing someone's documentary information. In this case, home phone and address. (Often it includes SSN and bank information.)
And she stated multiple times that she hestiate to say anything becuase of problems she's had with stalkers and peopel finding her personal information.
But they do this to her, becuase it's about a lack of "Journalistic Integrity" with the original issue, so in order to protest a lack of integrity you have to show an extreme lack of integrity and character. (or something).
And yet they didn't dox Chris Kluwe and Wil Wheaton when they spoke out. But it's not about hating women.
Yeah, it's about ethics the way the GOP's Voter ID laws are about vote fraud.

I want to think that this is part of the death-throes of the white male sexist. But I hate the carnage and fear it isn't really seen.
