I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Leaving work over an hour late. So it goes.

A good meeting starts on time and ends on time, I am told, sarameg.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Still working. Drawback of working from home. Also of having the West Coast as part of your territory.

And things are afoot with one of my previous employers. Just got a cryptic message from the old EVP via LinkedIn. He wants me to call him tomorrow. Please do not be bringing me into shenanigans. My current boss is his former direct report, and a number of our sales force and strategic consulting groups also worked closely with him previously. (Yes, my Current Employer can be called Previous Employer-East.)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Still working. Drawback of working from home.

I feel that. (Upside: dress code is NO PANTS FOREVER!)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Strix, keep hope. We had one cat that took a winter sabbatical in someone else's home. We thought he'd been plowed into a snowbank, and came back fat and smelling of woodsmoke. My own cat decided on a two week vacation (or maybe her kidnapper decided to release her after my Wanted posters went up. I was a fucking mess those weeks with her gone).

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I did come home. No drama tonight. My mother suggests I yell less.

Well, thanks, mom? Yelling, while not exactly productive, can be a valve when necessary.

Grace had equipment issues last night so I was up to 1:00 AM waiting for the DME delivery. Really? Sigh.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm watching the Skip Gates genealogy show, with Tom Colicchio, Aaron Sanchez, and Ming Tsai, and I know I knew this, but the ancient Chinese did NOT fuck around. They want back to like 600 AD, generation by generation!

Also? Have you met me? Rage barely under meh surface at all times, I yell. It's like she has forgotten 43 years of me,

sarameg - Oct 21, 2014 4:16:05 pm PDT #8614 of 30000

And the thing is, yelling isn't always inherently Bad. Now, around someone like me, it's ineffective and counterproductive (I shut down and remove) but that's not the dynamic here.

It doesn't seem the volume or method of delivery is mac's issue- it's that he doesn't like the content. You guys probably have some sort of feedback loop going ( what parent child dynamic doesn't?) but that's not primary issue.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I heard a fascinating interview with Alan Cumming last weekend. He found out as part of one of those shows that his father wasn't actually his biological father. Which, given what else he discussed, was probably not an altogether bad thing.
