That 50-foot wall painting isn't a campaign thing - it's been up for a couple of years at least. It's an ArtWorks project.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That camera is rather unfortunately placed (almost said hung).

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

That's what I'm saying! I really did gasp when I drove past it the first time. I think the standee part of his campaign may have been poorly thought-out.

I did know that. But I can't help wondering if the campaign considered hanging a big "WRITE IN JIM TARBELL FOR COMMISSIONER" banner across it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That is deeply alarming.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just saw the hapless GOP gubernatorial candidate's latest grab for attention (his first involved the former banker splitting logs with an axe while wearing flannel, and also this was related to his pet issue, something he called CRAZY TRAIN) -- a recreation of a CHILD DROWNING that HE PERSONALLY SAVES. This is a commercial about teacher tenure.

I came across this guy a bit in the context of my job. I'm hoping he's failed upward about as far as he can go. Because this ad HAS to backfire on him, right?

Also bon baby finally fell asleep just now after 30 minutes of banging his teething keys across the bars of the crib. I half expect him to burst into "Attica! Attica!"

brillig

I heard a radio ad that made me actually consider voting for the guy. It started with his wife saying "let me tell you about this wonderful guy," and I was expecting it to be the usual Utah local thing about what a good provider he is and all that. Then she talked about how he quit work for two years to take care of the kids while she finished studying to be a pediatrician. And he talked about how it was a hardship but he loved spending that much time with his kids and how it made their family stronger. A man taking off work for his wife's career is unheard of in Utah! And especially to be making a point of it! Fortunately he's a Democrat so I don't have to feel too bad about voting for him.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I fast forward or go get something to drink during the political commercials. One of my "jobs" this weekend is to find a couple of reliable sites to check out KS politicians so I know who not to vote for (already would rather eat his toe jam than vote for Brownback, thanks.)

If anyone has site suggestions, I welcome them. League of Women Voters is good?

Lee, I got your message! Let's get that nail box rolling! Er, whatever, since it's square!
