What, just randomly? You were sitting at the breakfast table and *boom* rogue plaster panel? Weird.
No, it's a section of wall damaged by ice dams a few years back. Idea was to sand down and skim coat. Sanding down yielded chunks popping free and soon was clear all of it has separated and was vertical by sheer miracle.
New plan: mount concrete board (Sheetrock too thick unless I was doing the whole damned wall) and use patching techniques to fill in the gaps between board and good plaster. And then skim coat that. Once I figure out how to anchor the concrete board, because this isn't cement over the brick, it's over lathe. Brick is somewhere back ther, but no idea where.)
Acquired a jigsaw and have the board all cut out.
But right now? I'm just sitting on my ass and shoving the first protein of the day in my face.
Ugh. This is one of those days where I'm completely failing at my job and feel like I should quit before I bring shame upon the company. I'm trying to remember that my boss told me it takes quite a while before a new editor is fully up to speed, and I've only been doing this for 2 1/2 months. But that's hard when I keep getting feedback about the things I forgot or just plain got wrong. And I feel like a fucking moron and I secretly suspect my boss is kicking herself for even thinking I could handle this job.
Sara, your walls sound just like mine!
But that's hard when I keep getting feedback about the things I forgot or just plain got wrong.
That is how you get up to speed! Like your boss told you you would need to do over time.
I'm a little surprised, but I guess I wasn't just whining when I felt like exercising was too hard and made me feel like shit.
Confirmation is good! I hope the meds work, though.
That's exactly how I made the ER doctor break up in laughter, when she told me that my toe was broken in several places. "Oh good," I said, relieved, "I wasn't being a crybaby!"
OMG, Waze now has, in addition to Terry Crews as a voice, Ichabod Crane. As in Tom Mison doing Ichabod Crane giving you directions. This is glorious.
It would need snarky "why is the future so weird?" commentary to be really cool.

That sounds fun. Especially if he goes off on tangents about the excesses of eight-lane freeways.
Kinda want to drive somewhere now, just to see what the directions sound like. But probably want to stay on the couch more.
"Turn left on the Franklin Highway. Another paean to Franklin? That bounder? That cad? I certainly misjudged his talent for self-promotion if that rogue is being lionized 250 years in the future."
OMG, Ichabod Crane doing directions would be AWeSOME.
Sigh.
So the skunk is still under the shed; I went out to look and got a good whiff of him. I'm buying a solar-powered motion-sensor light for the backyard, maybe that will scare him off.
