In DVD news, did anyone else know that Jonathan Pryce played Sherlock Holmes in a movie from 2007 called I Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars ? I got a DVD catalog today with that in it, and I'm tempted. $10 with shipping.

I'm not a fan of Columbus, but I could sure use a holiday in October.
Word. It's really great timing, halfway between summer and Thanksgiving.
I have survived midterms week. Now I really want to sleep all weekend, but I actually have to spend all weekend cleaning my apartment, which is kind of approaching disaster zone levels of clutter.
Mom update: She's still staying with me and doing a LOT better.
She is planning on going back to my stepfather after the weekend, which I have very mixed feelings about. That said, I think the rest/recuperation she's had is giving her the space to figure out how to handle the situation. I just hate the idea of her going back into something that can be so unpleasant for her.
Strix, I'll definitely be reaching out to you about those resources once I've had a chance to recover my own faculties a bit more. I've spent the past several days feeling like I've had iron bands around my chest, and I've barely been able to eat.
Darn, I thought this group of friends was planning on apple picking tomorrow, but it's Sunday, and I think that means I can't do it -- or skip seeing my father, because we usually go for 5pm dinner on Sunday, and I don't think I'll be back in time. Harrumph!
I have friends that have used airbnb and it has been great.
and today was a staff development day. and one of things I go t to see was one of the libraries 3d printers
All good thoughts for your sister, beth.
And for your mom, and for you, Anne.
I've been internet-less since Sunday, so, catching up everywhere.
Suzi, I hope you're feeling better. tommy, you too.
DH and I used Airbnb when we went to London for his brother's wedding - it was a lot cheaper than a hotel, in a great neighborhood with a 24-hour Tesco and a tube stop down at the end of the block, and the kids had their own room to sleep in. Wins all around!
I've done VRBO with minimal problems. Some of the AirBnB I've heard about is pretty sketch, like the woman in Italy who it turns out didn't get a room of her own, and the owner of the flat expected her to sleep with him. But I think that's pretty rare, and down at the low low end of the scale.
I have Edwardian Farm on DVD! I'm watching it as I clean the living room! I've just ordered pizza and am looking forward to eating it in a cleaner living room as I watch.
