Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Tales of the weird, aka, welcome to the Buffistas.

I walked into the dojo and told my sensei I wanted to hit things. SI put on my bag gloves and punched and kicked the Wavemaster for 30 minutes. I'm so tired now, but the brain is less manic.

Ok, now I have a tale of the weird.

I just caught up on my personal e-mail and just read a Caring Bridge update on my massage therapist (who has been fighting very agressive breast cancer). She is being moved to hospice care and given "weeks" to live. I know everyone is different but when my mom was given "months", she was gone in 3 weeks. So the weird part - the e-mail notifying me of the Caring Bridge update was timestamped right about when I had my crying jag earlier. Connected? Maybe. Maybe not...

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Suzi, I'm so sorry.

Thanks for the ~ma, everyone. Mom's still staying with me, and seems to be doing much better. I think she didn't realize just how toxic things had become.

I'm not sure what things will look like long-term, but right now I'm trying to convince her to bring her dog here because I do NOT trust my stepfather to look after him.

Strix, I may well take you up on your offer.

Anne, feel free to.

Oh, bringing her dog over is a good idea, Anne. That will be another source of comfort for her.

I stopped off to see my Dad today, and do some paperwork for him. And I went to Cost Plus and bought three baskets, a lamp, and some cookies. Go me.

There'll be some work-arounds with the cat, but I think it will work. I found out from a mutual friend of mine and my moms who works for my stepdad that he's been bringing the dog into work (yay) but walking him in a busy industrial park without a leash (eek!).

I feel guilty about this, because I called P to ask her to let me know if she had any suspicions about the dog being okay, and if Mom finds out I called her, she'll be furious that I went behind her back. That said, if something happens to her dog in the middle of all this, it would be horrible.

So, I'm worried, and also feeling guilty and scared. I'm tired of feeling like I've got a tight band around my chest, and I'm having trouble eating.

EDIT: Dog is here. I talked mom into going to get him.

I'm back on anti-anxiety meds, thank god.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh Anne, so sorry about what your mother's going through.

Flea: gorgeous house and TWO fireplaces!

ETA: No, three fireplaces.

Wow.

Anne, so tough. You did the right thing with the dog. If your mom finds out and is angry that'll suck, but you did the right thing.

Phew! Missed the trash but the recycling guy waited for me to run the bin out.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad you have the dog, and that you have anti-anxiety meds, Anne.

Lots of ~ma, beth. That sounds scary.

Already aggravated by work. This does not bode well for the day. It's pretty sad that I am looking forward to getting my flu shot this afternoon as the highlight of my workday.
