Sending ~ma, Anne.
I cleared a bit of a path in the clutter. I was thinking about calling in sick tomorrow, because this really hurts, but I realized that I've got to get my graded midterms to the office tomorrow morning, so I can't. Now I'm hungry, but I'm not sure what I have that I can make into edible food with one arm in a sling.
E says to me, after we watch 4 eps on tv together and I let him stay up later than normal doing so, "oh the art project is due Friday".
SRSLY!?!!!
It could be worse, today could be Thursday.
Anne, I'm sending good thoughts for your mom. I hope this time with you is healing for her.
"oh the art project is due Friday"
Kids, man. Friday probably seems like it's SO FAR AWAY it may as well be Thanksgiving, whereas grown ass humans with a firm grasp on the concept of time know this means you have a little bit of time Wednesday night and Thursday night to get that shit done and you probably already had plans.
I'm in panic mode over everything I have due on Friday - and I'm taking both Thursday and Friday off to get everything ready. I even worked on auction stuff while watching Supernatural and that is usually my "devote all attention to the tv" time.
I use a cheap Target crockpot and a separate household timer to cook my steel-cut oatmeal overnight. I still haven't used it for anything else, but it's pretty good on the oatmeal.
Good luck, Anne and Anne's mom. I hope things turn out okay.
Me, I took my niece out for dinner at the new tiki bar (pupu platter and fancy rum drinks with edible orchids!), and now I'm crashed in my pajamas, watching last night's Sleepy Hollow.
I got the garbage out before the trucks came. Take that, The Man!
My roommate, in a not-unusual-for-her-haze, had put out the garbage and recycling cans... which were empty.
(They have lids, and they are heavy, even when empty -- but geez, how hard is it to actually, you know, check to see?)
(Recently, she helpfully gathered up a bunch of mail I'd left on the coffee table... and put it all into a brown paper bag, and put the bag right where we leave the recycling to be put out. This, I am sure, was not passive-aggressive, given the genuine surprise she had when I pointed out what a bad idea that was.)
