For some reason, I always think "trulia" is another sweetener when I first hear it. (But that's truvia, I guess? There are too many now.)
That said, that's a gorgeous house.
'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

The place by me is bigger, and new construction, but STILL.
We went to Cyclavia today since Franny's science teacher will give her extra credit for it, and, you know, because bikes. It was stupid hot but very fun, and I got to cool off with a cucumber/lime/mint popsicle. Delicious. But now my brain is toasty. oops.
Burrell we should have dumplings soon!
Yes! Although we are going to HMB next weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday. But mine is the week after, so maybe then? We can figure something out one of these weeks anyway. I still haven't made that sangria either.
Roust to attack the enormous ass sitting on her with his tail draped across her face, or stay in warm nest? This is Pumpkin's dilemma. She's occasionally biting the tail, but just the fur. I think they think 67 is too cold.
The Bowie exhibit was great! I'd forgotten how obsessed i was with Bowie back when i was in high school and college. He was my first celebrity crush.
He was a huge influence on my musical tastes, second only to Lou Reed. Looking back on it, Bowie influenced me in other ways. I was raised in a very homophobic environment. I didn't know any GLBT people until I was 20, so I didn't have much of a reason to question all the homophobia I was raised with. Except when I was a freshman in college I'd catch shit from people for liking Bowie (because he'd told the press he was gay in the early '70s). So when people asked me, "How can you like him? He's gay." I'd just say, "I don't care." Which was the beginnings of me realizing homophobia was bullshit. And I've always been kind of androgynous, and I think my Bowie fandom helped me accept that.
When I turned 20, my best friend came out to me. Shortly after, he started asking me questions about my sexuality. He said, "You know how in Hair, someone asks one of the long-haired guys if he was gay, and he responded, 'Well, I wouldn't kick Mick Jagger out of my bed!' Would you kick David Bowie out of your bed?"
I had to think about that (because at that point I considered myself straight). I don't remember what my answer was. Of course now I'd answer, "Hell, no!"
Which is really the only sensible answer anyway.
I think we'll try to see the Bowie exhibit when we're in Chicago in December. We're only there for a day (rest of the time in MI) so we'll have to actually remember that's what we want to do and buy tickets accordingly.
In other news, I feel like I'm getting a cold. bah. But I'm making a lamb veggie curry which I hope will help with the symptoms. It smell all spicy and yummy at least.
Would you kick David Bowie out of your bed?"
Well, yes, because I find him creepy, but if SWINTON was in my bed, well...I'd at least want to chat? :)
I'm rolling my eyes at Goodwill, because seriously--charging $10 for a secondhand tshirt is ridiculous even if it's a new-condition fancy brand. But trying to get me to spend $10 for a secondhand tshirt from TARGET?? Dude, it probably only cost $11 new! (But I did end up buying some jeans)
The new townhouses behind me are going for crazy amounts of money (like, over $250K more than I bought mine for 4 years ago). And they're smaller and don't have garages (though they DO have gorgeous amazing roof decks with beautiful views, which I don't have...because they built in front of my view, sniff)
if SWINTON was in my bed, well...I'd at least want to chat? :)
Swinton and Bowie: Two great tastes that taste good together. They're sort of opposite sides of the same androgynous coin.

And then there's this tumblr, Tilda Stardust: [link]
It's tag: Dedicated to the belief that Tilda and Bowie are one person.
