Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Went to TJ's and also had to swing by the regular supermarket because TJ's was out of lasagna noodles. The recipe I made last weekend called for like 2T of ricotta, so of course now I have to make lasagna.

But then on the way home, I saw an open house sign, so I have go nose around there as soon as I finish lunch. Then cooking and laundry. And work? TBD.

Oh, and weren't we talking about grocery store samples here? A sample of the pumpkin soup at TJ's actually made me put the carton back! Too sweet for me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have a strong desire to do nothing today. And that's before I consider the predicted high of 97F. We'll see how that works out, I guess.

It is gorgeous here -- 60 and sunny, perfect fall weather.

So I just poked around the new condo on the corner, and it's nice, but JFC -- it's listed at $1.35 MILLION DOLLARS. I want to ring some kind of bell on the street so all of us current residents can talk about it.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I add a swirl of balsamic vinegar, and that balances out the sweetness really well. (Also for their butternut squash soup.)

It's a good idea to fire up the furnace before you really need it-- if you wait until the first really cold day and it is broken, all the furnace repairpeople will be very busy. Ditto for furnace parts that are back-ordered.

The sole ac unit removed and stored ( but not way down in the basement, learned that lesson well.) Bring on the hot&muggy spell...

Soon as the washers done, trip to Ace.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm currently weirding myself out by realizing that I'm just about the same age as Lorelei Gilmore in the first season of Gilmore Girls. When the show originally aired, I was just a little older than Rory. (Although, now that I look it up, I see that it actually premiered in 2000. I was sure it was 1998. So, OK, I was 19 when it started, not 17 like I thought.)

At least that's less obscure than my last weirdout: made a "Number Five is alive!" comment to the lifeguards regarding the new pool vacuum (seriously, looks like one) and while the more senior guard immediately got it, took the younger one a bit. At which point we realized she wasn't alive when Short Circuit came out. And I'm only a year younger than her mom...
