Wine, Chocolate and Art Festival was pretty great, if very hot. Mom and Dad each found a wine to buy, we all found chocolate to buy, and Dad picked up a metal willow tree that's super cool. It was very hot, but a lot of the wine was chilled and that helped. One of the chocolate stalls had little insulated bags for their chocolate, which was awesome. Then we went to dinner and I got Roasted Bone Marrow and brought home the bones, so I have delicious stock in my future. It's still 86 in my living room, but that doesn't even feel warm right now.
I'm supposed to go see a friend's husband's band play music tonight, but I think I'm going to just watch the end of this baseball game (if it ever ends) and go to sleep.
I forgot to mention, my Y staff knows me too well. Tonight I got asked 'so now that it is cooler, more cookies? With booze? I really like kaluah?' Even they know I don't bake until my kitchen won't become a furnace. Maybe I could do that tomorrow.
tommyrot and I went to the David Bowie Is exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago today. Purchases were made: [link]
SO HOT. We took Dad to Octoberfest, which was packed with people. I had some good beer and a great plate of West African food.
And now I'm going to bed.
I woke up early this morning, but still haven't gotten anything done! As soon as I dry my hair, I will go to TJ's, and hope that kicks off afternoon productivity....
Timelies all!
Quiet day here. Groceries, and watching stuff on the DVR.(maybe we'll actually catch up and I can read Boxed Set.)
I decided I wanted pancakes before I started gardening, so now I am at Stacks waiting for French Toast.
Hopefully I can get home before it gets too hot to garden.
It is 61 degrees in my house. I heat with fuel oil. Not turning it on yet. But I will be buying a space heater.
