"Let's just say I got a visit from Nick Fury"
I like.
Do such celebrities keep their non-stage names as their legal names? Or is it one of those annoying "it depends" things?
I'm curious about this. Been on my mind with the whole FB flap over drag names not being real names. How is that different from stage names?
I just have this image of a very nit-picking British etiquette master insisting on calling Elton John "Sir Reginald", to the confusion of everyone who doesn't know the name.
ION, I found the most perfect fic summary ever: "That time Tony gave Bucky a therapy llama."
The story's hysterical. I'll put the link in the fic thread.
Allyson, I'd say Pam from Archer would be a good inspiration for possible explanations.
"Let me just say, never get in a street race with the Yakuza."
OMG Scrappy I love you. (Also I love Til Tuesday.)
Good luck with the interview, Jessica!
We had a barbecue today and they ate all my salad up! Which is good for my ego.
I couldn't play volleyball because (a) my hand-eye coordination is still completely fubar after my ear surgery; and (b) I have always been terrible at volleyball.
So I sat and drank a beer and chatted with people. And then went home early and crashed out for an hour. Yikes. Beer at midday always knocks me out.
Another resentmencation day tomorrow. Too early to plant tulip bulbs? I think I'm gonna put pavers over them until spring... Damn squirrels.
staggers into thread, falls over
Sanity~ma, please? Don't set people on fire ~ma? Because of the sudden excitement of Dad going to the ER this morning, I texted the guest relations person for the con I was scheduled to be at this weekend and told them I had a family emergency, and was not going to be able to attend. I was very sorry, but ... family emergency.
The response:
"Hi Jillian, I'm so sorry to hear that and we wish you and your family the best. But we will have to discuss the breach of contract when you're able to."
I did sign a contract with them. I just reread it, and there is NOTHING in there about penalties for breach of contract or being unable to attend due to emergencies. Nothing about any financial re-compensation to the convention or for plane tickets, or anything else like that. May I have someone else set them on fire?
Life would be so much simpler if people just weren't jerks whenever they had the opportunity.
