Hah, Jesse. Damn you, mom!
I finally got an electrician to my house to figure out why flipping the breaker back didn't bring the overhead lights back on. His answer? "Fuck if I know. The guy who did this job originally used the wrong wiring in the wrong configurations, could be anything."
So basically I'm screwed until I hire a contractor to start the kitchen remodel, and I will include the electrical work within that. Balls.
In better news, I applied for 2 jobs today, both of which would be pretty awesome if I got them. If I get one of them I might buy a new car, because it's either a 12-minute car ride or an 80-minute bus ride. The other one would mean working in SF, right on the waterfront near the Ferry Building, which would be OKAY BY ME. Fingers crossed.
Lee, I'm glad you could be with and speak with your father before he passed. You and your family have my sympathies, and I wish peace and strength to you all.
. Then when I talk to the psychiatrist, also with Kaiser, about my ADs, he lectures me on becoming dependent on pain meds and asks questions like, "When will you finish your chemo?" (The answer to that question is "never.")
I think you need to respond to that question with a scythe next time. Ass.
How long a bike ride?
Probably 45 minutes, it's about ten miles.
Fingers crossed, Consuela!

Just casually drop the PDR and the DSM-IV on his nuts. Bringing a scythe into a psych's office generally gets you locked up.
I'm sorry, Lee.
ita, I hope you'll have your meds soon.
For anyone who's getting Live at Lincoln Center on PBS right now, it's Sweeney Todd with Bryn Terfel and Emma Thompson. (And Audra McDonald and Christian Borle.)
