I am so sorry, Lee
Someone sent a group Facebook message to everyone in my high school class asking for our current address and phone number for reunion planning. Everyone is replying to all! Not sure if you can turn that off, but it seems weird

Aaand I get to work just as we lose 60% of power and so can't park in the garage because they haven't yet gotten the gate arms up and my systems are all on backup generator. But apparently the wireless network is up. And I can run on battery on the laptop.
I'm so sorry, Lee. Peace to you and yours.
I have to confess that it was nice this weekend not having access to my work email on my phone (we've switched systems in some way), but there was a crapload of stuff waiting for me this morning! At least nothing expecting a response over the weekend.... And I did check the webmail a couple of times.... Ugh, work.
I'm also excited that I will be back in my apartment tomorrow night! Our friends got a short-term rental right on their own street, which is pretty sweet. An insurance company that is willing to pay for hotel rooms makes for pretty good leverage when looking for a short-term monthly rental, it turns out. (I'm sure they aren't actually paying hundreds of dollars a night, but I bet it's higher than actual market rate.)

The corkscrew things they sell to tie a dog out are the perfect tool for planting bulbs. Screw it in, tank it out, and you've got the perfect size and depth hole.
Nice! I've got one of those.
Did not get to the gym this morning. Waking up was too hard (eight hours is apparently not enough) and I am sore from running yesterday. I don't think I'm even going to pretend that I'll go after work.

Fantastic! This also answers my unspoken question, can I plant bulbs now? The other plants will probably die if I try to plant them now, but they're gonna die anyway. I can't bring the patio plants inside. I did not think of this last spring when I was buying patio plants. But they all lived except for one! That's much better than I expected; I thought I'd kill them all.
Oooh, I want to plant tulip bulbs in the front. I guess I need to get to a garden store first and get some tulip bulbs.
