the hotel's free breakfast had little omelets with American cheese in it
Was it a Holiday Inn Express? That's where we stayed as our halfway point while driving down to the beach, and I was taken aback that the eggs had surprise cheese at all. (Although I'm a philistine who loves American cheese on eggs because of how melty it is.)
I love American cheese all the time.
I woke up a little early this morning, but still just made my preferred bus by the skin of my teeth. But I made it! Even though she left early, which I think is not right.
Surprise cheese is the bane of my life.
(I'm much less bitter now that there are respectable 'vegan cheeses' available.)
So there's a website about Native/First Nations philanthropy stuff, and it's called Indian Giver. I feel like I admire the guts/sass of that, but it did take me aback for a second!
Steph, it was! It was a perfectly acceptable hotel otherwise. Clean rooms, good bed.
Oh my on the "indian Giver".
When I was young, I thought the term was referring to the white people who gave the Indians worthless blankets and beads to take their land. I was pretty naive
Rain, hooray!
Of course, the weather told me it would rain later today and it was just sort of a light mist when I left the house so I don't have a jacket or umbrella, but it's not like I have to go back out into it soon.
The icemaker in my freezer is not working--do I find/call a refrigerator repairman for that? Or is there some other category of repairperson I should be asking?
I'm flying back from Canada this afternoon, which is good because I'm exhausted and I've already eaten too much poutine. I had some critical packing errors, one kinda trivial, one non-trivial.
I've spent so much time working this week on my performance review, this summit, and networking with people here that I'm going to faceplant my bed this evening when I get through Customs and make it home.
