You can really go down the rabbit hole on the Rejected Princesses site....
The author said he'd write about Nanny, a Jamaican National Hero who led a "tribe" of escaped slaves in raids and fought for freedom. I can't wait. But, damn, so many women so many details. The entries get longer and longer--the Bathory one was especially fascinating.
Calzone consumed. The crust did a good job. Needed a better distribution of ricotta and Canadian bacon, and sauce needed more spice. An experiment worth repeating.
That sounds good, Connie. I like an experimental meal that I can immediately see how to improve next time try it.
Deviled eggs are not getting made tonight. Oh well.
I went really old-school for dinner tonight: elbow noodles with olive oil and parmesan. I haven't had such a vegetable-free meal in quite a while. Nommy, but I may live to regret it.
I had a bowl of chili with sour cream and cheese. No beans or tomatoes. Didn't occur to me how very vegetable-free that was until just now.
I did have a salad for lunch, so I had some vegetables today.
I just ate half a bag of sun chips just for the scratchy saltiness on my throat. I wonder if this is the enterovirus that's going around. It sure isn't making my 9am-midnight work day any easier.
I make my own pizza dough all the time, usually in the bread machine, but this time on vacation I hand-kneaded some. It takes a half-hour on the dough cycle, so you can have pizza in under an hour including mixing, baking and cooling enough to not burn your mouth. Plus my recipe is enough for two crusts, so I put the other half of the dough in the fridge and the second pizza is even faster.
I woke up ugly tired this morning. Blargh.
what kind of leavening do you use, Theo? That seems stupendously fast to me.
Feel better, aurelia and Pix.
