JFC, I almost forgot to pay a cc bill. For $11.01. I'm way too scattered.

My mantra these days is "Let me get through October 10th. Let me get through October 10th. Let me get through October 10th". October 10th is the ARP Silent Auction. It is also the day CJ can get off team suspension (if he grades continue to hold up). I'm one of the co-chairs for the event and am in charge of all the silent auction items. To say I'm feeling manic is putting it mildly.
A 50-miles stretch of I-15 is closed due to flooding. That is the primary route down through the Intermountain West to Vegas and LA. That's going to be a bitch to clean up. The bulletins on my stretch of the freeway say it's going to be six-hour increase in the trip to Vegas with the detour. I don't think I'll plan any trips south for a while.
I've been feeling a low level of ick all day. After the dinner break I started feeling a little better, but now I'm dizzy as shit. It's like being drunk but without the buzz. Here's hoping I make it home without falling down.
Just got back from Chicago, where we announced we were closing the office. It was, of course, sad and upsetting, but already quite a few employees have applied to come to L. A. I am EXHAUSTED.
That's the part of the HR job that I absolutely couldn't handle.
Soon I shall have to get Gail up because we have to leave early for a Fun Thing, but morning person she is not, especially on vacation. Still, it's something that she REALLY wants to do (warm weather dog-sledding) so I just have to keep reminding her why she's getting up at the figurative crack of dawn....
You're having so many adventures, Theo!
Scrappy, that sounds terrible. Sorry.
That sounds fun, Theo!
That sounds not at all fun, Scrappy.
Hope you made it home okay, aurelia, and that the ick and dizziness pass quickly.
I am feeling the good kind of normal that makes me think a sick day yesterday was absolutely the correct choice. I just hope it holds because I am going into the office for the first time this week and have back-to-back meetings in the middle of the day on top of whatever may have collected on my desk for me to do...
Sitting at the Social Security office. This is my fifth visit here in the last two weeks, trying to get some replacement papers for my mom. So much time wasted, OMG.
