Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Earlier you were On A Mission....

- vacuum (including upstairs)
- clean bathroom

- dust all - some
- straighten bedroom
- laundry (including sheets)
- dishes + other kitchen
- work -- reviews
+ other
- beach
- long walk
- groceries
- pedicure
- hang mirror, etc.

Not bad! And I realized I should do a round of dusting on Wednesday. Maybe I can still do the other work thing, but also I can put it off because there's no actual deadline....

Good job! Now can you come clean my house while I paint?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Jesse, you kicked ass.

Need to do:

vacuum living rooms - 1 done by me, 1 by mac
mop kitchen
clean my bathroom - all done
do a load of laundry - by me
vacuum mac's room - by mac
measure some clothes - measured 4
go through some papers - clear off at least one side table - by me
clean off dresser
wash car
vacuum car - driver side front and back vacuumed (garage very hot and yuck)

I did have to stop and do real work work, and then mac I and went to comic book store and book store.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hard ginger cider and corn on the cob with basil butter.

That sounds amazing. And summery.

Well done, Jesse!

I have turned all my vegetables and eggs into meals (actually, I'm still in the process of making breakfast custards, but the eggs are out of my fridge), that hasn't happened in a while. Once this batch of custard is done I will have 9 breakfasts, 21 second breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 6-8 dinners ready to go. And I've stayed fairly on top of washing up dishes while I did it, which is highly unusual.

I get more vegetables on Wednesday and more meat and eggs on Thursday but those are future -t's to manage.

Of course, I have not done the one thing I really wanted to accomplish this weekend - culling the closet. But the day is not over.

ETA: your done list is also looking pretty good, msbelle!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We've had a very lazy weekend, which is fine, because Tim has been working his ass off for the past couple of months. Today I finished the first Harry Dresden book, and we ran errands and went to see GotG again (still fantastic). And now we're having pancakes for dinner.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Trading mopping for vacuuming with my mother was brilliant, I have to say.

Now can you come clean my house while I paint?

Ha ha ha. I barely cleaned my own house, over the course of three days!

Go, msbelle! Go, -t! Also, go, Steph! Relaxing is also important.

Paid my bills for the first half of September, which is probably the one thing that most needed to get done today. Bringing my task completion average up to 68% for the weekend. That's pretty dismal.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Connie and Zen, I had dinner recently with an extremely thoughtful young man I know, both of whose parents are Presbyterian theologians, and he made the argument that in today's economy, if you have the means to hire someone to do things like that, you have a moral obligation to do so. So tell that to the head-Calvinists.

Punishingly Intricate

-t, your meal planning is inspiring!

I got the VB6 cookbook for my birthday so I'm planning to have a bunch of meals out it this week. Not too many because Bob will be away from tomorrow night through Friday and I have dinner plans Thursday. I did prep some meal components but not as many as I wanted to. And we had turkey burgers with shredded carrot, fresh corn, and 5-spice powder based on a recipe from the book tonight and they were pretty freaking good so that's promising!

We cleaned Saturday and I sent a work email that would have plagued me all weekend and the toilet racer is almost completed (thanks, sarameg!) plus I celebrated my birthday with my parents and brother and family. And I brushed the fuzzy kitten! So I feel like we got a lot done this weekend but thank god for the extra day!
