I need hivemind help for a report. If a count goes from 11 in one year to 21 in the next year, is that an approximate 50% increase or 100% increase? I know that if it went from 21 to 11, then it would be a 50% decrease but, in my head, if it doubles then it has increased by twice as much so it should be 100% increase ... maybe.
I wish I could just say it almost doubled but I need percentages for this report.
Ok, spent a couple hours and ground the paint off the tops of the rails. Going to give my hands a break and try to get the fucking spent wheel off. Not having much luck at the moment.
lcat, it's (21-11)/11=91% increase
Sorry, Dana. I was just feeling sad for all my friends. It's not as horrible this year, I think? Based on my unscientific social media analysis. It's always shittier when there's another hurricane in the mix somewhere in the Gulf or the Atlantic.
Next year will suck, though. And I'll be part of it, I've already got a pitch sold about NOLA Brewing and rebuilding for next summer.
It's more the people posting on FB, including my mother. It's what she needs to do, I guess.
Thanks! I've been cleaning like mad, and digging through boxes and bags that I didn't even realize I had to try to find things. And along the way discovered I have several boxes/bags in a closet downstairs that I didn't realize I had never dealt with after moving. Oops. I also have WAAAAAAY too many plugs, cords, adapters, doohickeys, etc, that I don't even know what piece of equipment they were/are for, or what they're supposed to do. Or if I should keep them. Aaaaaaand found a box of photos I didn't realize I hadn't scanned. And I gave the scanner to my parents. Oops. (Sadly, the one infamous photo I wish I had, of me and my bestie at 4 years old, her with block in hand, me with black eye, did not turn up).
And I suspect I am forgetting eighteen different things I need to do or buy or aaaaaah. My head hurts.
Still have a headache myself from the grinder, but going to go swim anyway and pick up some paint on the way home. Exciting!
Sorry, Dana. Sometimes staying off Facebook is the right call.
Good luck to your bro, Consuela! My former coworker just got pulled out of Liberia, but he's not a physician.

Yeah, I've been trying to throw those away -- even though I have a basement now! I do not need to fill that basement with things I don't know what they are.
Happy birthday, meara!
