Nora, what's going on?
One of the advantages of working a short week should be being able to sleep in on your day off, when the rest of the world is going to work. Sadly, I cannot do that when I have Dad's dog here, because the little guy starts whining and barking around 6AM.
I gave up at 6:30 and let them both out, and then went back to bed, which at least they let me do.
I do believe this is a Significant Anniversary for NO.
I thought that was tomorrow. Admittedly, several months there are a blur for me, so I'm probably wrong.
This was not a vacation day where I got up early and was industrious. That vodka was mean.
Well, the railing isn't going anywhere.

Nope, it's today--same as my birthday. :(
Though that is so far so good--I spent several hours last night reorganizing my bathroom cabinets (because I'm a Virgo like that, when I put my mind to it), and am hoping to do more cleaning and reorganizing later today, so when I get back from my trip everything will be awesome. And a friend who is going to stay here for a week while I'm gone came over to get the key and brought delicious quiche and pastries and coffee! Aww yeah, birthday breakfast delivered!
Now if I could just figure out why I've been sleeping like crap the past week or so....not enough time in hotels?

Oh, yeah. So it is. Sympathies, Nora.
In other news, my brother the doctor is going to Liberia. Which I am NOT on board with, damn it. I don't know if he's going to be treating any patients, or just working with international staff to help set up facilities, but the whole thing really worries me. Argh.
Is this the same one who is taking the dog?
Many happy returns, meara! That does sound awesome so far.

Eek indeed! I mean, go him, but...eek.
Nope, different brother. This one's an infectious disease specialist who has spent a lot of time in Africa. He has done some consulting on Ebola, but I wasn't expecting him to go...
