My style: I needed someplace to keep my books and stuff.
Cat-distressed gentlman's club library.
That sounds like what I aspire to. What I actually have is Eclectic with Many Penguins. No, what I really have is Clutter and Rabbits (since the rabbits are still in the middle of the living room, they are a prominent part of the decor).
That's hard, lisah. But it sounds like she's not working out for you.
Are we discussing Outlander anywhere?
My design aesthetic includes a rug we are going to throw away once the dog dies, oil cloth covered tables, and a bunch of rolly bins with medical supplies or craft supplies in them.
So I guess it would be mostly a durable crap aesthetic.
My decorating style is "I moved and all my stuff doesn't fit so it's just sitting there in boxes until I can afford a bigger place".
IF you were going to describe your decorating ethos in a few words, how would you?
Colour, geometry, penguins.
Graduate student/college teacher clutter trying to be a grown up work in progress. And I'm neither grad student nor teacher.
lisah, I think you should start trying other stylists and using her as backup.
Last swim at my pool for a week was frustrating. 10 laps in, someone had a med emergency and we had to clear for the guard to deal with paramedics. Then they had to close early because guard had to go to his second job and they hadn't scheduled a backup. But he was nice enough to let me finish my main swim, though I couldn't do my cool down laps. Not his fault and he waited since he knew I was near the end. I really wish the new coordinator would do a better job. At the least, she needs to cover shifts when their empty.
OK, I have breakfast custard for the rest of the week and deviled duck eggs for second breakfasts for 4-6 days. I need to make some salads for lunches but first I need to eat more because running at lunch time means not really having lunch. To that end, Chili Lime Quail has been started.
My decorating style is mid-century, basically.
I made banana pudding this morning, which was a hit at the block party. And could not have been easier, since I just used instant pudding mix. I made two boxes, which was more than enough, but I still don't think one would have been enough, so leftovers it is! I'm pretty sure pudding with additional blueberries will be tomorrow night's dinner.
Tonight, I wasn't sure if my mother was planning on our having dinner together or not, so mid-party, I went over to ask her if I could have a hot dog, to much amusement, given that most of the people requesting permission from their parents to eat something were under 7.
