The facebook option to not see someone is "unfollow." Go to their page, and there's a button that says "follow" near the top. Click it to get a drop-down menu, and pick "unfollow."

No, if you unfollow, then you just don't see that person's stuff. They'll still see yours.

There's a different button that says "Friends," and the pulldown menu on that one has "unfriend" as an option.

I just went over to Weather.com to see how long this lovely rain was likely to last. There was a blurb about giant jillifonts invading cities. Honest to god, my first thought was "I have a gun." I may have lived in the West too long.
