Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Shouldn't there be two pictures of kitchens (one for each unit?) Is that tiny tiny room with the white and glass cupboards a kitchen. The other one doesn't look bad to me, but I currently rent a spacious but horrible kitchen with no counter space, and I hate granite counter tops.

The tiny room with the glass cupboards looks like a butler's pantry. I agree with Sophia that we seem to be missing a kitchen. The one shown looks like one added to an apartment.

The pictures are all of one of two units in the house. The units are mostly identical, as far as layout. The first floor kitchen (not shown) is recently renovated. The first floor also has the original Rookwood fireplace, columns, and ceiling beams in the living room; the second floor was "simplified" a bit sometime before 1974. But both units have original windows and floors and china cabinets and such. (Unfortunately, it makes much more sense for us to live in the second floor unit, but we could deal for now and make better over time.)

On the other hand, since we cannot seem to decide where to send Casper for dance lessons (we have been trying to decide for 3 weeks now), I feel like nobody should allow us to buy a house.

Oh, also, the house was built as a 2 family in 1906, by a man for his two married daughters. The 3rd floor was originally the maids' quarters, and is less charming (appears in one picture, the carpeted room.)

So if you live on the second floor, is the third floor also yours?

Yes. It has another bathroom. The first floor apartment ALSO has a bedroom on the 3rd floor connected by a separate staircase, which is a little weird. I am thinking we might renovate the whole 3rd floor into a 2 room + bath master suite, and rent the first floor as a 2br. Eventually.

At least it was built to be shared, instead of something knocked together.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's nice that both apartments get a maid's room! I mean, if you're going to have a maid, she has to sleep somewhere, right?

Or, as in the current first floor tenancy situation, your teenager. I can imagine that works well for them!
