I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Try not to get sick, people!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

On Jesse's recommendation, watched a "Going Deep" last night - Shoelaces. I finally think I've mastered that tying a shoe in one move thingy, thanks to David Rees (well, thanks to his guest, Ian Whatsisface). And I will state that David Rees is completely and utterly adorkable.

Right?

So I just had to tell my boss there is nothing we could do differently with our tracking report that would get me to do the task I've been putting off/avoiding for months. It is not the tracking that's the problem!!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sure it is. I bet if you stopped tracking you could put off and avoid it with much less anxiety.

You make an excellent point. And actually, Step One is figure out if it's worth doing anything about, anyway.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Eh, they're putting in a new water system in the neighborhood, which will be a vast improvement over the grown-by-segment garden hose and pixie straws arrangement we've been living with. But people, we live on a mountain. And what are mountains made of? That's right, rock!

They started drilling for the new lines on our street, and hit bedrock, and random boulders, and had to bring out the heavy machinery. They've been drilling at the corner of our house since seven am, and honestly, right now? I'd give up showers just to get the noise to stop.

Yes, I could go somewhere, but I've had the cold from hell since last week, and I still feel grody and puny. I'd rather sit here in my earplugs and whine. Moooaaan.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh, Beverly, that's a drag. Whine away!

Oof, that is terrible. I am still crossing my fingers that the construction near my office continues to be as not-bad as it's been so far.

Oh! That reminds me! There is some utility work going on also (related? who knows!) and the other day, I walked by one of the workers really pissed off -- he threw his helmet down on the ground! But I literally couldn't tell he was actually mad until I walked by, because the other guy, facing me, was just laughing. Yikes! That's a hell of a way to start your day.

Yeah, well, I can tell there might be some helmet-flinging with this job. They took the job with a planned 800 ft. per day. They're not making 200 ft., and I've no doubt negotiations will soon be underway to adjust their fee accordingly.

Ah well. Water is good.

Water is definitely a plus.
