Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm so sorry, tommy.

A guy I used to work with called me one day when his office was being moved by Burnham Movers. The office plants were all gathered together in boxes that said Burnham. He went around the office saying, "Look, it's Birnam Wood!" Nobody got it, so he called me.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

tommyrot, I'm so very sorry.

msbelle, that's just not right unless your co-worker is under the age of 14.

That's hilarious, Ginger.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am so sorry, Tommy.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I can accept never hearing of Party Girl. If I squint reeeeeal funny I can even picture no Princess Bride ('though who would want to live in such a universe?), but no Funny Girl?!?

Sigh.

I guess that makes me old. And/or someone who works in an environment full of academics and film students. My film students get ALL my film references, so I live in this lalaland where film refs are never dated. Or too esoteric.

Don't ask about the premeds. They are probably all like msbelle's coworker.

I don't know Party Girl, but I have significant gaps. OTOH, when an issue we've had since the late 90s came up again today, and the developer was all, hey, I was in high school, don't blame me! and I was all, BROTHER! Damn, he looks younger than me. I would have guessed he just passed 30. But he's an ex marine and seriously, seriously beautiful eye candy.

I love this land!!

I made cookies tonight for my coworker's baby shower tomorrow. I was hoping we could get him some of his favorite soda from home (Pakistan, it's ice cream-flavored, evidently, and nuclear green!) but my other coworker who was on that task wasn't able to find it at her nearest Indian grocery store. Maybe I'll look for it in one of the bigger Asian food markets and give him some for when the baby is born.

I also made a fritatta with asparagus, yellow pepper, and potatoes and pecorino romano and it was delicious. I have to remember more how cooking is usually good for my brain. Actually, I should make something this weekend for our friends who just had a baby. Something vegetarian and freezable. Any suggestions?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

They also thought lolcat was some language I made up.

I remember you saying that before! Apparently not everyone on Facebook is familiar with lolcat, because I will post something like "I haz a sad" and then people bust my chops for poor grammar. It's correct according to lolcat, damn it!

Maybe the shop by the farmers market for the soda? I think that's SE Asian? Show my ignorance.

For C&M(I presume) veggie lasagne? My favorite lasagne is a TV dinner one that has carrots and broccoli and squash and zucchini and I can't find it anymore. Veggie chili? Black bean, of course. I'm showing my comfort foods, I was also thinking enchiladas.
