Ann, that's a ferret.

Sounds like a step in the right direction, tommyrot.

In GISHWHES news, one of the items was to deliver flowers to residents of a retirement home. K-Bug used to work at an Assisted Living place, so we went there armed with a few boquets. Everyone was so delighted. One gal, gratefully accepted her bundle, hugged me and K-Bug, and then handed it back so we could make someone else smile.

Everyone we talked to knew K-Bug and were so happy to see her. Elated, even.

Then I offered to help with anything they needed (another scavenger hunt item) and ended up learning how to play Bunco. One of the best couple of hours I've spent in a long time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, that's great to read, Suzi!

Also cautiously pleased with tommyrot's father breathing. Go lungs.

I have lost the will to work.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's so sweet, Suzi! What a nice scavenger hunt.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I noticed early this week that my roots were growing out and looking bad. Red hair + Grey roots = Not A Pretty Sight. They didn't have the root-touch up dye at the CVS, so I came to work and thought, let me check to see if the Floyds I go to is open tonight--they are, and I got an appointment at 6pm! I KNOW I would have meant to find touch-up dye and then put it off and run out of time and felt dowdy all week long, so, I am very pleased with my gumption. If making a hair appointment counts as gumption.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Floyd's charged me over ninety dollars to colour my hair. They still have my clipping business, but next time I go blonde it's in my bathroom.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Continued ~ma for tommy's dad. Glad to hear things may be on an upswing.

One gal, gratefully accepted her bundle, hugged me and K-Bug, and then handed it back so we could make someone else smile.

Then the story made me smile - smiles all around!

If making a hair appointment counts as gumption.

My past-my-waist hair up in a messy bun says, "Yes, making a hair appt would require gumption." So yay you.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Got another job application rejection this afternoon. It was for a position near Saginaw--not an ideal location. But still, it's getting a little depressing, much as I'm enjoying the whole sleeping in thing.

Hey, I finally got a nameplate! I can't put it on my cube because the holder that is already in place is the wrong shape. Supposedly, I will get a new one on Monday (it took 14 months to get the nameplate, so we'll see how long the holder takes...) and meanwhile I have my nameplate on the empty cube two spaces down with arrows pinned to the walls leading to me.
