I used to borrow sheet music from the library all the time, though. I remember being so excited when I realized they had musical scores!

Ugh. About to go into what will be a really awful call for work. I have to tell one of my direct reports her role is being downgraded from Senior Manager to Manager. It's not my call, but my manager is on vacation so I get to drop the hammer. Really sucky situation.

And it was not awful. She'd noticed that on other teams new hires were coming in at Manager not SM and did not seem surprised or particularly concerned. Her bonus will be impacted but not salary so I guess that helps.

My own manager doesn't really think this person is right for the job, and I imagine she is hoping for more of a reaction. But while I don't think she was doing much with the role previously, this past month she's really stepped it up so I'm good with her. I really didn't want to cut the legs out from under her improvement, so I hope this reaction holds.

Oh, that sounds like a tough situation, brenda. Glad it was not awful.

One of my sales people and one of the account people can't make my call. Two of the account people have not responded. Sigh. Well, if I have to schedule another one later I guess that's not terrible, maybe we can get something done today..

And looks like my 9am call will be a 1pm call. Which is fine but now I need to rethink the structure of my day...and hope that free lunch is not late...

I just realized I have 3 meetings today,

I have three meetings this morning, and it's feeling pretty good! Just one more in the afternoon, and most of them are less than an hour, so I've got free time! I am skipping a lunch-and-learn, though I'm hoping another member of my team will go.

I've been waking up with my lungs all tight and needing my inhaler before I even get out of bed. Tree sex. I do not like.

Tomorrow I head to SLC again. I have a 6:15am flight. Why, oh why did I think this was a good idea when I booked it? I am deeply regretting that decision.

Mmm, someone brought in peaches and they are delicious.

Instead of a birthday cake (or cupcakes), tonight I'm having a birthday waffle with whipped cream and strawberries. Because Parks and Rec.

I want it to be tonight NOW.
