I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I love my Fit (2008, base model). I have the stick version, and it's surprisingly zippy for 4-cylinder. I average 32-35 MPG, in non-highway driving. It's not a great highway vehicle, though. It lets a lot of road noise in and feels unhappy at anything over 70.

Tsk, Connie. Cool air right on you? Next thing you know you'll be lolling about on furs, letting oiled, semi-clad young athletes feed you foreign chocolates. [thinks] [thinks with mental pictures] [thinks with mental pictures, safe search set to "off"]

Posting medical pictures? That seems...fraught with HIPAA violations.

It does, but I bet they're pretty funny anyway.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The microwave works! Breakfast is saved! it was my Pancakes of Fail, so not an especially good breakfast, but that is hardly the microwaves fault. And t was the last of them, so the next batch can be better.

I've got a day of testing ahead of me, and my lunch "break" will be filled with the tailgate luncheon (so, free food but no free time) and I have at least one actual My Job thing that must get done today, so probably staying late. I think I will swing by the farmer's market after work and rectify my no fruit situation and maybe even hit the Thursday evening wine tasting on the square.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yay microwave?

I'm in the office again. Got lured in with the promise of getting my laptop back - this is week 4 post-tea-incident. I sent a note yesterday asking when she gets in the office and have not heard back. So I'm here. Working and waiting. I'll probably head home once I get it though.

So, my new house, needs new windows. I have two that leak and one with broken glass. I'm not replacing them all. Yet (too expensive), but my HOA has approved the replacement plan and the windows are being made - installation will be the first week of August. Damn windows are expensive. There goes my hope for buying a new car in the near future.

Our wings are not tired.

My sister is on her 3rd Fit. She drives a lot and on mountain roads. Loves the mileage and the seat options. She also has a dog that occupies the back area daily and she has no complaints.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I totally failed at gaming the system at the doctor today -- I made an appointment about a minor issue, paid a $30 copay to be told it's basically nothing, with nothing to be done about it. If I had made an appointment for an annual check up, we could have had the same conversation for free! And they would have checked other things. THANKS, OBAMA.

You'll never win health care like that, Jesse.

Yay microwave?

Definitely! I have become pretty microwave reliant lately, not having one was cramping my style.

I would feel unhappy if my sister was driving over 70. She has totaled four cars. To be fair, one of those wasn't her fault and two were a long time ago. This makes me want her in a larger car. The Fit is about the same size as what she's been driving, though. Her driving is not helped by the fact that she has little use of her right side and has refused any suggestions that she get an adapted car. She drives with her left foot in a kind of pretzel position.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. How well does that work for her?

I considered a Fit when I bought a car in '11, but I was disappointed by its highway gas mileage. (I ended up getting a new Focus.)

Does this airship's butt look big?

Want to buy your own airship? Get your orders in now

Look at photo 6. But I think that's the front of the airship, so it can't be a butt....
