Reavers ain't men. Or they forgot how to be. Now they're just nothing. They got out to the edge of the galaxy, to that place of nothing, and that's what they became.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But my laptop is a Mac! Normally I wouldn't even have Office on it, just a clone, and I think it's weird to expect people to have a work-ready laptop. My home work machine is my desktop. I don't even know if they'll have the right cabling to set it up for display, that's how out of touch I am.

I'd rather a standard work PC rather than battling with OS X Office (still haven't found Save As, for the record). Odd, oddliness.

I have created a new login so I don't have to tidy up my normal stuff, but still...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My landlord is replacing the external, metal stairs in a neighboring apartment. It's great that he's up on repairs, but it's super noisy. So I spent most of today out and about: brunch, a coffee house, a winery, a produce stand (fresh corn for dinner!).

I've never had to bring a laptop to an interview.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I have done yard work and clipped the small dog's nails* and purchased groceries and finished the laundry. Still to do: bills, vacuuming, make a pot of ground-nut stew. Possibly clear out the bathroom cabinets, which are in desperate need of organizing. Too much to do.

But if I get a lot done today, I can take much of tomorrow off--I'm going to a tasting at a distillery and then out for a nice dinner.

*It's probable that I will be taking permanent ownership of Dad's dog, who is a small yappy cockapoo. He's not a bad dog, aside from the yappiness, although he wasn't very well trained beyond the very basics. But he's not the kind of dog I would have chosen--for one thing, I certainly can't run with him.

So does anyone have any use for unopened packages of electrodes for a TENS unit?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Connie, I think Hil uses a TENS unit. (But then, she'll probably see your post, so I'm being over-helpful.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

So, I got distracted, and it's July in NC so I'm thirsty, and I may have had a glass or two (or three) beyond what would qualify as sobriety. Hi everyone. I love you all. And the Property Brothers marathon on HGTV. That's also nice.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I think my highlights are too much and too light, now that I have not looked at them for hours and look at the again. I guess in 6 weeks we'll put in low-lights to balance it out.

I think your hair looks GREAT.

Just wait and see. I like it an you know my bias is to go darker.

(Which reminds me I should dye mine soon. I don't mind all the white hairs, though I do think I sprung more this past month, but it is getting really bleached out in the pool and brassy.)
