it strikes me as a little lackadaisical in the way of corporate security.
It was very handy when I could call Tech Support, and outsourced service which was only for taking calls and routing them, and have the guys who do the work overhear (I sat between email tech support and general tech support) and have it fixed almost before I hung up.
And, honestly, usually I asked for (and got) help before putting in a ticket--but tickets showed their workload, so I made sure to call them in soon.
Turns out the interview that went well is paying Colorado rates even if they place someone in LA, so that was pretty much a waste of being charming. The recruiter had been misinformed of the rate by $15K.
Yeah, for one thing it's pretty easy for them all to forget I'm 45 minutes away. I'm thinking I might just leave as soon as I'm ready. Which'll be pretty soon.
Sorry about the payrate, ita, that's too bad. Good to keep the charm from getting rusty, I suppose.
Congrats Doctor Otter!!!
Today's pain levels are higher than yesterday. Eatting oatmeal hurts. But, so far no big spasms.
And it looks like K-Bug is getting kicked out of living with KCD and B and will be living with CJ and I in our 2 bedroom apartment (versus their 4 bedroom house). I still haven't gotten a straight answer for what happened. The info I'm getting from KCD just doesn't seem to warrent kicking her out. I need to find a smooth way to talk to B to hear her side of it. Living with us, short term, might be fine, but until she graduates? Not so much.
Congratulations, Doctor Otter!!
And in other news, drat! I found a typo on the version of the resume I've sent to several jobs in the past couple of days. *insert Charlie Brown-esque "argh!" here*
Oh, yikes, Suzi. That's not an easy situation.
Doctor Otter! I like the sound of that.
The man who writes up the weather for the Salt Lake Tribune obviously enjoys his work
Whether emotions or forecasts, perhaps Sigmund Freud had the truth of it when he opined: "Neurosis is the inability to tolerate ambiguity."
There will be no uncertainly or gnawing doubts about Utah’s summer when it officially begins Saturday, ushered in by Friday’s clear, sunny skies and 90-degree highs. On Thursday, the forecast called for the mercury rise to near 80.
Southern Utah approaches the weekend with climatological confidence bordering on narcissism: Thursday’s forecast called for highs in the upper-90s under cloudless, bright horizons, with Friday and Saturday temperatures expected to hit triple digits.

I'll have to check him more regularly
So, the higher-level editor position with the AMA that I mentioned a week or two ago? My boss just sent out an email to the freelance staff announcing that [Other Editor] is leaving and that I've agreed to take the position. (Which I had; it's just weird to read it as fact.) So...I guess I'm promoted and shit. I believe it will start in mid-July or August.
I'm still slightly terrified that I'll fail horribly (despite the fact that I was an editor in a medical-related field for 18 years), but also making Paul Gross arms (internally).
