I guess the height diffs are moot in doubles?( I don't know tennis.) That's such a happy picture for so many reasons.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go, ita! And that is a great picture.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay on the interview, ita!

And that's a great photo

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

YAY ita. Good luck on the interview.

We are back from Yosemite which was a lovely trip until we got home. Yesterday we hiked 3 miles rt to Dog Lake. Grace handled the 600 feet elevation gain like a champ. The lake was lovely.

We got home. Kids were playing outside. I had them come in and bathe. As I was walking past the bathroom, I heard Noah say, "I hate Kathryn." He wasn't lashing out at me. He wasn't angry about taking a bath. He hadn't been angry with me all day. He wasn't speaking to me, but rather about me. He was just calmly recounting how he felt to his sister.

He totally hurt my feelings.

I can handle an I-hate-you as a vindictive move, but not a dispassionate one.

Ooof.

I don't know how you address that. Especially at that age ( um, or a lot of ages) where you aren't really sure wtf is going through their head. Recounting an incident? Play acting? Testing out a thought?

Ouch, Kat. I can't really imagine.

I'm absolutely certain I managed to seriously hurt my parents' feelings( and vice versa) as a kid, if my track record as an adult is any measure. And most of the latter on my head I'm not sure how the fuck that happened. Difference is now I'm the one with the thicker skin who responds mildly with 'well, that was shitty, don't do that, I don't like you doing that' and they're the ones who sulk.

Woot! I have an in person interview on Monday!

Woohoo ita!

Is your cousin super tiny or is the dude super tall? Or both?

He totally hurt my feelings.

Aw. Yeah, that's gotta suck. And as sara said, who knows what that's about. Dang.

(Tim is discouraging me from crashing the party. He's no fun.)

I would try watermelon beer. It sounds gross, but I"m not really a beer drinker, so I like the fruit beers (strawberry abita, and a grapefruit hefe have been my drinking companions this summer). And I would be VERY tempted to play that song. Or possibly be like "Hey, can you keep it down? Your RACISM is keeping me awake".
