Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

WOO! WOO! WOO! Okay, no more hockey until Saturday. Holy crap.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Connie, carrots, butter, bourbon and brown sugar. Nom!

Bourbon makes everything better.

And that's a whole separate issue -- he REALLY shouldn't still be living alone

This sounds like the real issue to me

Oh, it 100% is. The problem with him being an autonomous adult is that he's resistant to moving to a care facility, so unless he's incapacitated, whether mentally or physically, he's staying put in his house. So we have to work with that, which means frozen dinners.

And I've posted about pancakes so much that now I REALLY want blueberry pancakes. I have both pancake mix AND blueberries...but it's 11 p.m., so I think I'll pass on the pancakes for tonight. But soon, man. SOON.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Virgin America to the rescue! Their price to LA was the same as the lowest price mentioned on Southwest, and the site actually worked.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David, if I get the ScarJo hair, there either will be recriminations or pictures if it actually looks good.

I am willing to live with these terms *and* provide a wide range of photo references that examine that cut with multiple subtle variations.

Like I'm going to say no to photo references.

Hey! So I'm not bothering to Beep Me this, but the old house is GONE! Closed today. NOT MY FUCKING PROBLEM!

Also, remember when the most vaguely shameful thing I had purchased because fandom, kind of enjoyed, and made other people watch, too, was that Alexis Denisof movie, Murder Story?

I have trumped that. I have purchased (and am at this moment ripping) a mid-90s educational video called Biodiversity: Wild About Life!

I'm not proud, but I do find it hysterically funny.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Steph, would Tim's dad qualify for and/or be receptive to meals delivered through a seniors nutrition program such as they have with CASS [link] (Cincinnati Area Senior Services)? My sister went a few rounds with my mom over her eating style, going so far as to buy unbreaded chicken tenders and veggies that can be heated up in a microwave, but Mom was not using that food. Meals on Wheels has been a very good thing for Mom, because they deliver her a well-balanced meal just before noon. That tends to be her wake-up call, so it is what she has for breakfast. She tells me that they bring her more food than she can eat in one sitting, so it does duty as lunch and then dinner. This eliminates her temptation to go get a cheap sloppy joe or hot dog at the lunch counter place across the street from her appartment. And hey, if she ends up having a less than optimal snack later, at least she had something substantial and reasonably balanced during the day.

ETA: One thing I appreciate about several of the parents/guardians of people I support, is an attiitude of quality of life includes real choices - ie, "Yes, water is the best beverage, but my son wants Mountain Dew, so try to steer him toward the diet, caffiene-free stuff, but he can have what he wants."

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The hockey gods are pleased, shrift, I have taken on the burden of superstition for this series by wearing my (now) lucky jacket.

Yay for house!!!!

Man, so, like I'm seriously emotionally unstable! Working on this new song. It's about the concept of kintsugi where you repair broken ceramic pottery with gold, emphasizing the damage and honoring the object's passage through time instead of hiding or discarding it. So, kinda intense. Finished up the vocals a few minutes ago. Walked out of the studio thinking, man that went really well. I love how that came out. Headed into the bathroom..total sobbing meltdown. Uh...

I guess I effectively emoted?

So then I ate chocolate ice cream plus peanut butter on a spoon and cuddled the dog and now I feel better, but wow, that was fatiguing! And I checked the calendar (ok, I checked my menstrual tracking app, because that's how I roll) and yup, time for the good drugs to resume.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Yay, house! That's awesome news.

Liese, that sounds like an amazing song. I would love to hear it!
