Well, I don't have a job offer yet, but I've been asked if I'm still interested in proceeding if they wanted to make one, so I guess that's good.
I slept almost all day yesterday and then couldn't get to sleep last night because of it, so now I'm exhausted. My sinuses are so achy that chewing too much is painful, but that didn't stop me from shoving hash browns and bacon in my face this morning.
Very exciting shrift--in California?
I am at a site with excruciatingly slow internet. This is going to be a problem.
Yes, it's one of the roles in Mountain View.
Woo shrift with a wonderful offer, Mountain View!
Sending good vibes, Gar. Please let us know you are okay when you get a chance!
Anyone have opinions stain colors? I'm having the porch ad deck redone, which is badly needed. But I'm kind of at a loss in figuring out what stain to go for. The house is sort of khaki? [link]
I love the look of a sort of bluish gray, but I don't know if that will work or just look old. Alternatively, a deeper color could work. But which? I am so out of my depth. Any ideas or opinions welcome.
Late to the party Brenda, but with the combo of those olive/taupe walls and cream colored trim I think I'd either try to get as close to the trim color as possible with a light semi-opaque stain or go for a dark cool brown like this espresso stain: [link]
It's weird to say that I had a good time at a visitation for my old roommate's mother last night, but I ran into a bunch of my post-college friends and caught up with them after paying my respects. I also got 35.6 miles to the gallon on the drive down and 33.8 on the trip back, so somehow my 10-year-old Chevy is getting better mileage than it did when it was new.
brenda, my parents have accents and trim on their house painted bluish grey (with a beige/khaki/I-don't-know-color-names "background") and I quite like it. It does give the house an old weathered look, but pleasantly so imo.

That doesn't sound weird to me at all, Matt. Funerals and memorials are one of the few things that brings old friends back together. It's one of the gifts that comes with grief.
Rogue Peacock!
Really, for the writing style and photos.
I hate dealing with the corporate HR about leave. they sent me paperwork that i got YESTERDAY. It needs to be filled out and returend and I get that but I keep getting robocalls reminding me to do this. so I called.
It was like some weird twilight zone conversation where I kept asking "Do i have this right?" and then the person started saying the same info but a slightly different way and confusing the issue. I finally said "Please let me restate what I undersstand and if it's right just say yes without elaboration" and I stated the three points - fill out the paperwork with a return date, if the return date hs changed note it on the paperwork. If after the paperwork is submitted and the return to work date has changed then I need a doctor's note sent in.
That was the correct info but the person said Yes and then went into this long spiel basically repeating the same information I kept saying with some convoluted example. So I stopped and said "Do have this right" Yes but I guess earlier I didn't have it right so he was repeating things because that the beginning of the conversation I didn't understand.
And then I accidentally hung up on him. Honest to god accident he said thank you for calling and stopped talking and as I hit the end call button I heard him start talking.
I didn't handle this mindfully or peacefully but I'm not having an anxiety attack so I'll call this a win. Mostly
I'm fine, Sorrh I feel asleep at desk, woke up fine this morhing having had 7 hours of sleep,
