Even though I'm about to watch the first season finale for the first time tonight, I don't want to join that group, right? I am skeptical of people who self-identify as intellectuals.
It can give you a false positive, but I think that's a good instinct in general. I think saying the group was for intellectual discussion rather than being for intellectual people having the discussion would make me feel better about it.
Good luck with the change, Sail!
Ooh, I am definitely taking note of that vanilla extract idea. I like the smell of vanilla and what with on thing and another there are always less pleasant scents here and there that I can't seem to entirely get rid of.
Oh, that looks familiar, dcp. On the deck at our old house, I had to police the boards about twice a month, pulling up grass and tree volunteers. We had huge willow oaks and resulting drifts of the flowers in spring, and the leaves in fall. Invariably, some seeds would take root. We had pecans, too, and between the tiny acorns and the pecans, dozens of resident squirrels who took the deck as a bridge between trees, stopping to drink at one of the fountains. I had to police my planters, too, or I'd have had an entire oak and pecan forest.
Cool, dcp. Best case scenario - treehouse!
My sister has gone on her Facebook to say she doesn't like what Caitlyn Jenner has done, but she at least prefaced it with "I know it's not PC." So while it's a sad statement, she knows she can't blithely assume it will be a popular statement. Our relationship is not such that I'm comfortable with challenging her, so I'm going to pretend I didn't see it. If she ever says anything directly, however, things will be different.
For what it's worth, I think she's coming from a place of bafflement, there in her rural corner of conservative Pennsylvania, not hatred.
Oh my God, Febreez makes me want to claw my sinuses out of my head. It is horrible.
I assume in scented Febreez is alcohol and water, which is what I use on costumes.
If she called her Caitlyn at least she is acknowledging the change, even if she doesn't like it?
Maple sprouts are the worst. FWIW.
I think saying the group was for intellectual discussion rather than being for intellectual people having the discussion would make me feel better about it.
Yes! And anyway, I don't actually want intellectual discussion. Just some discussion! I'm all alone, 16 years behind the times.
So I finally got Hazel to sit on my lap, and now I remember that it's kind of annoying! She's all on one arm -- and phew, just jumped back off.
I just cackled. They always land with sweet sleep eyes when you are about to get up to pee.
...but it's nice when you got cramps and they are a warm purring heating lump. And as much as it derails planned chores, I love the cat induced procrastination naps.
