Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Nearly forgot my younger nephew's birthday.(It's early next week, and I wouldn't have remembered if my parents hadn't mentioned it.) I know what errands I need to do tomorrow after work.

I read the recipe for meringue cookies and was tempted by the simplicity--till I read the assembly instructions. Way too much fiddly work even for that level of scrumptiousness. So I shall go to the gourmet grocery tomorrow and see if they have any. There's a Trader Joe's in Salt Lake, and they apparently have some, but I cannot justify a 50-mile drive just for cookies.

I just hit up our TJ's for meringues. Nom! Also grabbed some Kona cookies - has anyone tried these?

The ones I made were not fiddly to assemble, Connie. Scoop onto cookie sheet and bake.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think the theory that the mice moved into their lovely drawer home when the china cabinet was in the garage, and they made themselves at home by importing mass quantities of food and bedding is entirely possible. Was there anything with a pillow stored in the garage? The fluff may come from there or it all may be from a neighboring garage.

When we lived in the country, we were plagued by packrats. When we finally found their nest, it had in it several pounds of pecans (we had pecan trees); a slipper taken from next to my bed; four washcloths; several rags; and a large amount of fluff extracted from underneath a sofa pillow. They were to source of many unpleasant surprises. I have never quite gotten over the slipper.

Thrive to spite them

I went back and looked at my cousin's FB post -the mice moved more like 6 cups so less than I was thinking but managed to get it hidden away in a pull out couch.

I'm thinking maybe some mysterious person put the birdseed there or maybe the mice enlisted a squirrel or army of chipmunks to help (chipmunks can store a lot in their pouches).

Sort of like Aeslin mice getting other creatures to do their bidding. HAIL! only the mice were dead - oh ! Those mice invaded and the Aeslin mice moved on. HAIL!

Just crazycakes. It all had to have happened in the most recent apartment. Just a mass amount for them to have collected in a year. No clue where they sourced either item.

In other apartment news, the apartment is cleaned and cleared of everything except one bookcase some friends want but can't pick up for a few more days. Plus a bike and metal bed frame that somehow missed the initial move and now I need to find a way to move. I have until the 14th to turn over keys, so that is fine.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

After reading about -t's meringues this morning I found myself idly contemplating the potential deliciousness of matcha tea macarons. I should try to find a recipe.

Mmm, tea-flavored cookies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Whoa.
