We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Ouch, Jesse! I hope they heal up well.

I got up early and ran with my sister, but now I don't have to do anything for two hours (the contractors are coming to measure the kitchen). Well, I guess I should take a shower...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want to go back to bed, but instead pretty soon I have to get dressed and go to Stanford on the way to work

I've decided Tino went to Stanford.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Today is my first day of summer vacation! I was going to go to the movies, but I may just spend the day lazing around instead. I'm pretty exhausted after a bizarre and scary incident last night when M and I were awakened by very loud banging on our front door. We could hear someone out on the porch muttering to himself and sounding both angry and unhinged, also possibly drunk, so after a few minutes of deliberation we called the cops. They showed up quickly and talked to the guy for a while, then took him away. They talked to us too and told us he thought he was at his daughter's house (and, shit, I feel bad for his daughter), and that they've encountered him around the neighborhood before.

Anyway, it doesn't sound or seem so scary now, in the light of day, but damn, when he was pounding on our door at midnight, it was freaky as hell, especially since Rose's room is the front-facing bedroom, and we didn't know who he was, what he wanted, or what he was capable of. Took us both quite a while to fall back asleep!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, yeah, that's scary. Glad it turned out okay! Enjoy your lazy day, Kate.

It's my across-the-aisle cube-neighbor's last day. Woes for me not having some I can see to talk to. But going away potluck lunch, which should be good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That sounds pretty scary, Kate. So glad it turned out okay. Enjoy the first day of summer vacation.

So in a bizarre turn of events, a friend of mine got locked into the deli at the UCLA Medical Center a couple days ago. It must have felt like being stuck in a sit com.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

George Pataki? Really??? Makes even less sense than Carly Fiorina.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Anyone know why Ghost Rider is on BBC America?

Maybe the Brits think Nicholas Cage is an amazing dramatic actor, kind of like the French finding Jerry Lewis a comedic genius? I got nuthin'...

At least with the Star Trek: The Next Generation reruns you can kind of see a rationale with Patrick Stewart as the lead.

Our wings are not tired.

George Pataki? Really???

But think of all the good he did for New York. Oh, nevermind, I got nothin.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yike, Kate -- that sounds really scary!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Kate, that sounds terribly scary. I'm glad the cops came quickly and took care of the situation.
