Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ankle sprains are No Fun. Ice and elevation, as Steph says, are best. Also, ACE bandages are better than sleeve-type braces because you can adjust pressure as needed.

Question for the hivemind, on behalf of a young person for whom I am apparently a resource for questions his culturally straight and un-counter parents are unable to answer.

Is Edward, from Cowboy Bebop, transgender? Or merely ambiguously named? I had frankly not thought about it (I'm bad for accepting you're blue-and-pink striped unquestioningly, and moving on), and told him to decide what he thought and go with that. But I was sort of touched he'd even ask. So, those of you who are Bebop conversant, what say you?

Also elevate the ankle and ice it.

Plus ibuprofen or something similar. The ankle I tweaked climbing a volcano finally started feeling better once I kept a brace on and took ibuprofen regularly.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Edward is a pre-pubescent girl.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

But now you get to say casually, "Yeah, I sprained my ankle climbing a volcano." Which is cool.

Thanks, Tom!

And yes, climbing a volcano is totally cool.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Exactly! Instead of saying "Yeah, I don't know how I sprained my ankle" and sounding super-clueless.

Oh, I'm totally happy to have the volcano story, because last time I had to wear an ACE bandage on my ankle for weeks, I'd tripped over a suitcase.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You should use the volcano for ny future stories. Just say "I sprained my ankle on a volcano" and don't specify whether that is the current injury.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What -t says but way more general. "Oh, that's my volcano injury" will be good forever AND you aren't specifying any particular (and possibly visible) body part.
