Third coffee. Am still groggy. So groggy that I'm worried I may be coming down with something.

Uh oh. Sickness begone!
I am having my first cup of coffee. Got caught in an loop of "I'll just do this one thing first" this morning. I think I have decided that biltong and coffee are two great tastes that do not taste great together. Fortunately I have a cake pop.
Huh. I don't think I've ever tried biltong.
It's probably just allergies. I have four hours before the interviews, so I'm hoping drugs and caffeine eventually kick in.
I am on cup of coffee #2
We are strategizing backyard clean-up right now. I am exhaustilpated and not sure how much I can do today, except it needs doing so I guess I just do it. I think today is mostly raking the bougainvillea leaves (which btw I can never spell and need to look up every time!) and cleaning up the patio, which leaves the back porch (THE WORST) for tomorrow, and picking up the house for Saturday. Ugh. And this is just to banish the Not! Hoarders! mess and bring us up to the average person's level of clutter.
I don't think I've ever tried biltong.
DH loved it, his whole family used to smuggle it into the country whenever they visited Jo'burg, so when I saw TJ's had it I had to try it. Pretty good!
except it needs doing so I guess I just do it.
This is where I need to be this weekend. Also to get up to average person's level of clutter, as a matter of fact.
Go drugs, be effective!
Now we watch free Hulu, but mostly rely on DVD's from the library. It means that we are always a year or two behind on popular culture, but with two preschoolers at home, that is our proper position anyway. We've let that go.
Fair enough.
I got a phone call from my new project manager this morning....at 6:50AM (I did not pick up). Grr. Especially GRR when I was traveling home from a work trip until almost midnight. Awkward, though--I tried to email her from my phone after I heard the voicemail, to say "Look, let's talk about this at a reasonable hour I am on the west coast omg"...only I accidentally sent it from my Yahoo account instead of my work one. OY.
Hazel is a cutie!
At some point in the late 90's my cable was turned on by mistake when Comcast was hooking up my neighbor's line.
My first year of grad school, I got one of those special deals where I got HBO and Showtime free for several months, with the cable company expecting that I'd decide I wanted to keep them and pay for them after the free months were over. I cancelled after the free months, and the cable guy came to turn off the signal. He disconnected the cable box that the premium channels had gone through and connected the cable directly to the TV, then tuned to the channels for HBO and Showtime, and they were still coming in perfectly, even without the cable box. He just shrugged and left it like that, so I had free HBO and Showtime for about a year and a half, until I guess they fixed whatever what causing it. (I knew a couple other people in DC who had the same thing happen, and we were all living in apartment buildings where the cable first went through a connection for the whole building, and then was wired from there into out apartments, and when we turned on cable for the first time, the cable guy had to flip some switch in the whole-building connection, so we figured it must have something to do with that.)
Calico lap cat! Aw. Take her home, Jesse!
Biltong! I knew I was forgetting something at Trader Joe's! Do you guys know I have a thing for local flavors of chips? It's something I always seek out when traveling. So I was super excited that they offered biltong flavored chips on South African Airways.
