A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

For something like a year after my ankle surgery, we were still getting bills. None of which were our responsibility, thank god.

Gods, billing. Anymore, if a bill shows up--and I'm still getting them, a year later, I don't know why it takes so long to process this stuff--I consider the size of it, see how much more it could have been (paying $27.80 on a $5200+ bill seems a good deal), and I pay it. A few months later I often get a check back for overpayment.

The people who design the billing practices of medical organizations should have very vivid dreams of what it's like to go through these processes.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

So I just got a phone call and my sister was in a wreck. She has whiplash and air bag burns, and sounded completely broken on the phone.

My mother and sister live together. Last week, my sister and my mother were running errands in my mother's car. My sister was driving, since my mother can no longer see well enough to drive. She stopped at a yellow light, and the person behind her plowed into her. That one was definitely not her fault. The other person's insurance company is talking about totaling out the car, so it's sitting in the shop. My sister, who already had a boot on one foot for tendonitis, got a broken finger in the crash.

Today, she was turning left into her work parking lot and someone coming the other way hit her car hard. She thinks she had the light, but the way she tells it, I suspect not. However, she was still shaken up from the previous accident. We will see what the police report says. Regardless, she has a '97 Civic, and there's not a prayer they won't total it out. So now they've gone from two cars to none.

As my mother says, if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, god, Ginger. I don't even know what to say. What a run of ill fortune.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Man, with that kind of luck driving I'd be tempted to buy a Nomex racecar driver suit and a Pinto.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh Ginger, that is terrible, both in terms of the cars and the insurance.

I have a terrible tree sex headache and I'm having a lot of trouble focusing. I almost called in sick

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have come in, but I felt like I had to. I cancelled my lunch walk because it was outside, where the trees are. I may need to start using the treadmills again if this keeps up.
