I'm speculating that there was a data leak at the company that handled my previous employer's payments and W-2s. My CPA said that three other clients had had the same thing happen, and she's just running a small, 2-person business.
There apparently were a whole lot of people that had their refunds snatched this year. My sister does taxes and she knows 2 people that had the same thing happen.

My mother's day was also lackluster. K-Bug is broke so I knew I wouldn't get anything physical from her but we spent the day together and that was fine. CJ was at his dad's. I got a text and then I had to remind him that we all had tickets to see the new Avengers movie. When he joined us I got a hug and that was about it.
It isn't like I wanted all kinds of things but I was disappointed and hurt. Oh well. On to Monday.

God, mothers' day was always so fraught in my family. We were thoughtless kids, but my dad was a thoughtless adult who didn't really do anything to marshal us into planning, and it was just always a disaster. I still feel awful about it.

I actually got flowers from my daughter! I think this may be the second time ever, if not possibly the first (the other time I'm thinking of is so long ago, it might be my own wishful thinking.) Usually, it's just a card. Of course, flowers were easy for her since she picked them from her garden. Besides, she paid for my food at the brunch my family went to, which was nice considering I know she's been a little short herself, having to carry the weight of her mortgage while she arranged for a new roommate. My son called me from Phoenix, which is about all he has the funds for, so I am more than satisfied with that.
