I don't care for grass myself, so I vote lilies. I'm hoping I can coax lilies-of-the-Nile to take over part of my front yard.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.
It's literally mostly just dirt now, and I think it's too big for all mulch, so maybe I'll move some lilies AND get some grass seed. I don't like being the worst yard on the street! There's some other groundcover type stuff in the back that bloomed blue already, so maybe I'll take some of that as well.

I always thought mint would make a nice ground cover. Grows like a weed, smells nice when you walk on it and if you need to mow it it probably can handle it.
Oh, I forgot to report that I finally asked my one coworker about the coffee cup that he was using to hold his scissors and which looked just like the one I used to drink coffee out if before it disappeared. According to what I found the last time I looked it up, mint will repel rodents for a little while, but eventually they get used to it.
