Oh jeez, Calli! There have got to be easier ways to rip off a person, don't there??
flea, it seems like the first feedback about a significant effort is nearly always negative. Sorry about that.

On the bright side, I'm guessing when criminals are caught by the IRS/Treasury Dept. as opposed to local cops, they don't get slaps on the wrist.
wow Calli, weird.
I got a letter from IRS yesterday asking me to mail in some tax forms. I filed electronically through TaxAct, why don't they have all of my forms?
Oh yeah, for sure.
In good news, I got an email that a package was delivered, but it was not on my porch when I got home. So I worried, but then I found it on the back porch! Which is a long walk from the street, and the package is big and heavy (a hammock stand), so thank you, UPS driver!
because my brother is the best, as many of you saw last night on fb, he sent me his old Kindle for Mother's Day. My first reader. I know what I will be doing all weekend.
Also who was touting the TJs bacon popcorn? Steph, was it you? As addictive as advertised.
OH GOD YES.
Things I've done today: one month eye check-up--good lord, it's been a month? All good, but like 50% of all cataract surgery patients, there is a bit of a holdover membrane on the right eye that may clear up on its own or may need shot with a laser (2-minutes in-office procedure) to get rid of.
Mailed off eBay package
Bought new alternator, as the Gen light on the car has been coming on, and it seems the electrical system has been dropping voltage it shouldn't have when running everything. Add that to the new belts and battery last week, and Mr. Jeep has been an expensive baby recently. Which is why I have the credit card with Firestone Car Service. New tires are on my horizon, but not quite yet. I've dropped more on the care in the past two weeks than my trip to Vegas in July will cost (hooray cheap flights from SLC to Vegas and mid-week hotel charges!)
A week and a half ago it was 80 degrees around here. I started opening windows and putting in screens.
There's a storm rolling in. We're supposed to get a foot of snow in the mountains, and the weathermen keep repeating, "It won't come below 7500 feet, all your plants should be fine, we don't think we're going to get an actual freeze in the valleys."
This is why I like Autumn. Spring is a nasty tease who keeps flicking cool weather at us with hints of warmth, then whips her cape back and blasts us with mid-90s in June, without giving us time to adjust.
Had this conversation today, I'm still not sure if only I was being sarcastic and silly:
This is broken It was working fine when we tested it yesterday. But it's broken today Are you implying that I'm lying? Are you implying that I am?
I get that it was working when tested, but so not the point. The point is that it is no longer functioning and needs to be fixed. Our two experiences are not mutually exclusive, and I hope to god you are seriously offended. Because that would be crazy and offensive.
Ah, another instance of my input being discounted or disbelieved
Hey, you scheduled that thing when Thurber thing happens, and I know it will have a negative impact.
Let's see how it goes.
Okay
One week later:
That thing we scheduled is negatively impacting this other thing, I'll have to reschedule it
Does he say I was right? No. I didn't even rub it in his face, either. I'm waiting silently for his rescheduling to negatively impact other things. I've lived through this for over half a decade, and have accepted that my opinion and experience mean absolutely nothing.
