Score! We just had an office raffle for goodies from an Office Max gift basket, and I won a pair of noise-cancelling headphones.
This weekend new movies are opening that star Jack Black, Sofia Vergara, and people I actually want to see. Coincidence? I think not.
It has been storming all day today. A thunderbumper hung out above the house for a bit. I'm going to need to check my gutters (not sure how) because the front gutter was overflowing instead of coming down the drain.
I have two resumes out to jobs on the West Coast, and my DH has one in Sweden.
I'm telling.
So, I took the day off work yesterday, spent 8 hours of my personal time this week, and spent $43 out of pocket yesterday to prep for the reading celebration at my kids' school. The $43 was because teachers reported their numbers wrong (or students moved in) and I had to buy extra books so every kid would have a book. The celebration was at 2:30 today and I was not there but handed off everything in good order to the person running it (also a parent volunteer).
RIGHT after school I get an email from one of the teachers: "My whole class participated however the note on the front of the certificates says 22 enrolled and 3 not. I was also missing books. The student's missing the certificates were X who read 46 books and Y who read 27 books."
I am fucking done.
Ugh flea, my DH shares your pain! He has helped coordinate the big Read-A-Thon for the past 3 years and it's always a stressful PITA. Yesterday he pulled an all-nighter getting all the numbers in for today. He keeps saying "never again" but he said the same thing last year.
You wonder why people volunteer, if they're not going to put any effort into doing it right? And then to throw someone else under the bus. Yeah, I'd be done with that shit, too.
Also who was touting the TJs bacon popcorn? Steph, was it you? As addictive as advertised.
The Baconesque popcorn is AMAZING. And definitely addictive.
