Toxic chemicals? Or maybe it really is the heat, like people say about my lovely neighbors.

Toxic chemicals?
Chemtrails [link] which at least one of the Texas crazies cited as further proof that the government is after us.
Thanks, yall. I also forgot I haven't moved my kitchen yet. I have one plate, bowl, spoon, knife, fork, and my tea cup. And a tea kettle. Only food in the house is from last night's TJ's run. I really should get on that, but I'm adamant about not running around tonight after work. Just want to relax, read, and unpack a box if the mood strikes.
Plus I also want to enjoy our new tv. I had given K-Bug a budget and a measurement of the space for it. She researched and found what would work well - a Samsung 50" HS smart tv. When we went to buy it, Best Buy didn't have any - not just the store we went to but any of the stores in the area. K-Bug kept talking to the guy and he was willing to give her a deal on the 55" version of the same tv and a deal on the mounting bracket, but again, they didn't have any in our store or any of the local stores. BUT they did have the floor model that they were willing to sell as an open box. Let's just say, she got them to even discount the open box price - so we have this beautiful 55" tv, the mounting bracket, a 2 year warranty, and covered tax for about 75% of the list price for the tv. That girl can negotiate.
I'm so happy that nice enough weather has returned that I can spend some serious time outdoors, even if it's just pulling up vines (which never stops, seriously).
Suzi -- big Yay for K-Bug!
I have to do an onerous task now. (Not vine-related, alas.)
The Texas thing is a whole lot of crazy: [link]. How did we get to the point that so many people are convinced that the federal government is planning to declare martial law, confiscate the 300 million plus guns in this country, impose Sharia law and dump toxic chemicals on us?
I saw a FB post through a friend who commented on it that was absolutely full of people who are 100% convinced that this is happening. Complete with photos of UN trucks being freighted through Mississippi to Texas (Evidence!).
I really wanted to post "Wait, are we finally invading Texas?!?" but held back out of respect for my friend. (Who to be clear was the only one pushing back on this in the discussion, and doing it very politely and respectfully.)
Asking if they are using Mississippi as a training ground probably wouldn't help, would it?
DINOBAT.
I am super sleepy and do not want to do work. Like, at all. I have followed up on two internal job postings (one in Dublin, one in Mountain View) and have meetings scheduled with people next week. I am rewarding myself with puttering around the internet every time I accomplish a work task.
I need to sit down and seriously evaluate the pros and cons of Dublin vs. Mountain View at some point, but I've been trying not to let it send me into an anxiety spiral since I hadn't been getting much serious interest in hiring me.
I have been on a mission to buy new pants because I noticed that some of my favorite corduroys were reaching the end of their life. Ordered some pants last night, but as I am heading to Michigan this weekend and the pants situation isn't that urgent, I chose slow shipping on Amazon for the $1 digital promotional credit. And yet somehow the pants are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow?

Awesome!
Because I'm friends with a lot of people who are also regular customers of the restaurant. For that reason, I keep FB as apolitical as possible. Some of them are more racist than I ever thought possible, but it's not my place to tell them to never cross my path again, because then we'd have no business left.
Yes, being a beer professional (an industry that skews white male) in the SOUTH is very tough for me with political stuff and social media. I've unfollowed a lot so my FB feed and make sure my lockdown filter is up to date, but I honestly don't feel safe posting about gender or race stuff publicly. I've been struggling with this a lot, and I feel incredibly cowardly and disappointed in myself.
