Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am so lazy. I just spent about 20 minutes making sauerkraut, and another 20 minutes filling a barrel with last fall's leaves, and that really feels like enough!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can't tell if I'm lazy today or maybe getting sick, but either way I don't want to do anything. And my work thing is not being as straightforward as I would like. Bah.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm alternating between work, internets, and moving furniture around my apartment like one of those tile games. I have a new sofa bed to put together but I need to clear out a bunch of space first.

I know that game well.

The thing I was hoping would be available by now just isn't. Oh well. Maybe tonight, maybe it will just have to wait for tomorrow morning anyway. I hate this end-of-month urgency that makes it seem as if it makes a huge difference if orders ship on Thursday or Friday when it only matters at all for our internal accounting.

The status is NOT quo.

Yay PR, meara!

I did nine miles this morning since I have a half marathon next weekend and am hurting now. I'm so out of shape compared to where I was before the injury, but at least I'm running again.

Now I need to be productive for the rest of th day. Shower, grocery store, and final project for my grad class. And grading. I'm grounded.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

A highlight of my Uber shift was picking someone up from one of my dorms at BU (Shelton) and delivering her to Harvard (Science Center) where I'd taken classes at night. I crossed the Charles at least a dozen times, which never fails to make me happy, what with the boats and the crews and the runners and the skyline.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I napped most of the day yesterday, so today I'm catching up on student emails and working on job applications. Just got up to 50 applications sent out.

I have 5 more days of work at this job left! WOOT! I'm pretty sure my boss is going to fail to get a going away lunch or whatever planned for me but, really, whatever!

Yay, lisah!

Ha, downloading a newer citrix receiver seems to have solved my problem. That should not have been so difficult to figure out. I may celebrate by working from home tomorrow, now that I can...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I spent a big chunk of yesterday out in the cool damp, being social. So I'm spending today doing housework and snuggling with the cat, keeping warm. I saw the first hummingbird of the season on my feeder, which was nice.
