That's my girl, large and in-charge. Okay, teensy-weensy and in charge.

It is 1am here. Since I was in central time all day, it's really like 3am. Why am I still awake??

I think I've really believed that at some point I would be an adult. And that time is not when I have a career, or buy a house, or some nebulous future potential wedding or children. No, I believed I would be an adult because I would suddenly grow up and be FINE with getting up in the morning. Oh cruel world, you lie to me so.

mr. flea, who is 46, is married, has kids, owns a house, has a PhD and a good job, once said, upon waking, "Why does this keep happening?" I said, "What?" "Waking up. Every morning. It keeps happening!"

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Right?! Why can't the world work with my circadian rhythm for a while?

Trust me, those of us whose circadian rhythm wakes us at 5am don't feel like the world is running in our favor either. The sun didn't rise until 6:50 this morning. I know, because I saw it. (I have the energy to make difficult phone calls at 6am. Unfortunately, nobody else is awake to receive them.)

Are you north of me, flea? Sun comes up at 6:20 today, here. Which means I should be biking to work, but I'm not.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

flea, you should get a job working with people in the other hemisphere! It would make that scheduling a lot easier...

My poor boss. She needs to hire a bunch of people (we're losing three of our team of eight, and adding a new position), and one of the people she just offered a job to turns out to be pregnant! So she'll barely be up to speed before she goes on leave. Good times.

I am awake for your phone calls, flea!

I have a work trip to Minneapolis Sun-Tues next week and I am not prepared. oops.

Happy closing, Suzi! Beware the hand cramps from signing your name so many times!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Good morning. Finally fell asleep a bit after 2am. I'm reading Gone Girl and reading finally got me to settle down (just as the book was really taking off). Was up with my usual workday alarms...so maybe 4-5 hours sleep. That is a functional amount, right?

I will make sure to hydrate, Sparky, to try to prevent cramping.

For the last 7 years, I've been telling myself that owning is not something I want, not something I'd qualify for, and just not in my future. But here we are and it still feels very surreal.

You still have a couple of days, Sparky. Have a good trip, in any case.

Argh, sending me an order at 4pm on Wednesday and wanting to be able to schedule pick up on Friday is not very sensible, other marketing arm of my company.

I hope it all works out for you, Suzi!
